Your risk,
day by day

a bucket that fills and drains, read each morning

Risk today is the one number on Home: how full your personal bucket is, from every trigger and early sign of the last seven days, recent days weighted more than older ones. The two pints and the steak on Saturday, the hot day, the short night, the dose you missed: each adds its weight and fades again. It is a description of what has been collected and logged, not a forecast of a flare, and the words on it stay plain.

why a risk, day by day?

Seven or more drinks over two days went with a 2.5 times higher chance of a flare, and the effect was clearest within the following 24 hours, in 197 people with gout.

How the number is made

The engine adds up every logged and collected trigger and early sign from the last seven days. Each one carries a weight, High, Mild or Low, and a fade: a trigger from last night counts much more than one from six days ago. The sum is your risk, shown against your own three lines, which start at sensible defaults and are tuned at the end of setup from what you told the app. It is additive arithmetic on your own entries, not a probability and not a model that guesses.

Seven days, past and ahead

The strip under the dial shows the week. Each day's risk is the same bucket read for that day, using what is already collected and logged. A day ahead can only show what is already in the bucket and how it fades, which is why the app calls it an outlook and not a prediction. Days beyond today are part of Premium; today is free.

Flares last days

While a flare is in progress the app shows a mid-flare view: what was in the bucket when it started and what has been added since, so you can see whether the second bad night followed the same things as the first. That view is part of Premium; the in-progress card and the end button are free.

Tuning it

Risk Model under Settings holds your three threshold lines and the fade curve, both editable. Manage Items holds every trigger and early sign with its weight, so you can switch off anything that is noise for you. Once a week the app proposes adjustments from what actually went with your flares, and you accept or reject each one.

Where it lives in the app

Risk today on Home: the dial, the zone word, days since your last flare and the 7-day strip. Tap the dial for the Risk detail screen with every contributor, and the arrow at the top for the 14-day history. Risk Model is in the Settings drawer. Customize home at the bottom of Home switches the card off.

What it needs from you

Nothing beyond what you log and what is collected. Today's risk is free; the days ahead on the strip and the mid-flare view are part of Premium. The morning notification is on by default and switched off under Notifications.

Questions

Does the app predict gout flares?

No. Risk is a sum of what has already been logged and collected, faded over seven days. It describes the week you have had; it does not say a flare is coming, and nothing in the app is worded that way.

Can I switch the dial off?

Yes. Customize home at the bottom of the Home screen hides the Risk card. Everything else, including Insights, keeps working without it.

Will it notify me?

A daily risk notification is on by default, and you can switch it off under Notifications or change the time. There is also a risk alert for a level of your choice, off until you switch it on.
